Hi, I am Li. Today I would like to share the serious situation and my views concerning the serious Energy problem we are facing.
As we all know, not only is energy necessary on daily life and industry but it also plays a role as a strong engine in society development. Since the wide application of fossil fuels, or the first Industrial Revolution, people’ life has changed completely and the economic society has progressed at a very high speed. In our country, the amazingly rapid development can ‘t be achieved without coals.
However, the real energy condition is not optimistic. According a government’s white paper published in 2007, (maybe it is a little old but must be authoritative) natural resources, including traditional fossil fuels as well as renewable energy, are charactered by “abundant total amount and insufficient per capita”. Additionally, uneven regional distribution and various complex natural environments result in the awful difficulty in resource exploitation and transportation. Finally, the combination of various factors leads to the supply-demand imbalance.
So, let us get back to the original question (Is China facing a serious energy problem?) Primarily, do you think the crisis only means shortage?
As far as I am concerned, except it, we are supposed to consider how to match the increasingly high energy consumption with the environment and economic development. What ‘s more, many other serious issues concerning energy annoy us. For instance, some who are aimed at gaining more energy make loads of international disputes, even launch a war. Oh, that is really terrible.
So, how can we relieve the serious crisis? To begin with, on the premise of the need for basic life and industry, saving energy resources and avoiding unnecessary energy waste. Undoubtedly, it is the easiest way that everyone could take part in. In addition, new scientific technologies are urgently needed, especially in fields such as developing new and cleaner energy, energy storage and increasing the energy efficiency. Actually, I think many students in our class are capable to apply major knowledge to related research and gain amazing achievements in the near future. Moreover, the government should take action to accelerate the new energy revolution.
In conclusion, the situation is urgent and hard. But we can really change it. Only by joint efforts can we relieve the crisis and establish a clean, low-carbon, secure and efficient energy system.
Thank You!
